9,000 bikers lined up along Columbus Drive for a 25 mile bike ride through Chicago…nothing too special about that right…well, not really unless you consider that we started riding at 1:45 am on Sunday morning!! Every year, the city of Chicago holds the The L.A.T.E Night Ride one evening in the summer. I had never participated in anything like this before, but I figured why not…so I signed up!!
My friends and I started the ride at about 1:45 am and didn’t finish until 4:15. The ride took us up Elston to Foster and then over to the Lake Front. We then rode along the lake for about 9 miles to Buckingham Fountatin, where we were greeted by volunteers who provided us with a great (but far from gourmet) breakfast. Overall the ride was a blast – the only thing I regret was not staying for the sunrise – but I guess there is always next year!!
